VFX Final

This project is supposed to show what we learned in the class by using it to make a PSA about a subject of our choice. Our group consisted of Me (Javier), David (which I worked with on the green screen project), Katie, Lew, and Jon. Our PSA was about not using the Lord's name in vain, and we basically show people getting smote by the Lord.

I did the lightning scene, and the disintegration scene, as well as the shot breakdown, and some roto work.

Overall this was a fun project, with some minor issues that I will try to fix eventually.

I want to thank Raul Moreno again, as well as Myong Choi for offering help and support and Jeanette Sinh for the help with filming.

VFX Tracking Assignment

This was a tracking assignment my VFX class. We had to record some footage with some movement, and then replace or add some elements within the scene.

Thanks go out to Alex Mireles for the help, and Raul for the help as well.

Green Screen Project: The Pyro

This was a 3 person greenscreen group assignment, and the group consisted of me (Javier) as the lead 3D and visual effects artist and I also did most of the shot break down, David who came up with the basic plot and story board, and did color correction and a bit of roto work and Danny which did sound work and acting.

The project is really rough, but we really enjoyed (except maybe the last all-nighter) working on it. This was the first project I had done with live action footage that I actually enjoyed.

We had hoped to improve on it, but it seems I'm just unlucky and lost the most recent maya files (I still have the pre-textured files) the day we turned this in. At least it wasn't the day before...

Day to Night Project

The day to night assignment was a bit difficult, especially working off a laptop with the colors/brightness settings a bit off. This project didn't come out the way I had hoped, but I guess even bad projects teach us something. Well, here it is.
